The Market is On Fire - Are There Any Firemen?
Goldman Sachs - 11.11.09 - Bull Move
XLF - 11.11.09 - Bull Move
SPY - 11.11.09 - Bull Move
2 Day, 10 min. - 11.11.09 - Sideways move - Longer Term charts would suggest that the move will be to the upside. If "short term" patterns are inconclusive, look to the longer term charts for direction.

Raging Bulls on a Tear

Bulls Ignore the News and Charge On in Spite of Economic Problems. The "Market is the Market" and the Economy is something else.
2 Day, 10 m. - Nov. 10 - Today was a sideways days following a strong upsurge on Monday. This is really a Bullish action allowing for consolidation and may precede another leg up.
20 Day, Hourly - Nov. 10 - Bullish Channel Trend is evident. The Market is approaching significant resistance.
GS - Goldman Sacks has proven to be a Market Bellweather. The Financials in general are in sympathy with the Market and the latter cannot really gain traction without them.

Premarket Information Can Set the Tone - Bears Attention!

When the Bull is Out of the Pen, He is Difficult to Subdue!
11.9.09 - Pre Market Futures can help define the tone for the day. The above information was available at 6 AM well before the market opened. Very often it is neutral and balanced but the above chart shows an overwhelming upward move in the futures. From this information it is easy to anticipate a bullish day in the market, especially with the open.
11.9.09 - The /DX (US Dollar) fell like a rock in the Pre Market and Signaled a Bull move in the market. In recent months the market has moved contrary to the value of the Dollar.

Multiple Time Frame Analysis

All Time Frames Consistent with Bull Move
1 Year, Weekly - Nov. 6 - Channel Trend is bullish on weekly chart. Note RSI snap back up.
3 Month, Daily - Nov. 6 - Price action above the 200 Day Moving Average (Bullish). Daily shows bounce off of support with resumption of upward pattern. Note the Moving Average Crossover to the up side.
20 Day, 2 Hour - Nov. 6 - The most interesting chart in the flock. Note the MA Crossover and RSI snap back up with confirmation of the move in the MACD. Note the move over the 200 Day Moving Average. All of these indicate bullish momentum prevails. The 20 Day chart offers an intermediate term view of the market that may support swing trader decision making. Think of it as a "Road Map" to the future. "Technical Analysis is a Windsock, not a Crystal Ball" - Carl Swenlin, Decision Point.com.
2 Day, 10 minute - Nov. 6 - Today's action was mostly a consolidation day. Note the tightening of the Bollinger Bands. This is "low volatility" and offers opportunity to take position that could become more profitable as volatility expands. Price action is above the 200 Day MA which is bullish. 200 Day MA is also on the rise consistent with the trend.

"Bullish Trends on all Time Frames Point to Higher Market"
Monthly Pivots show progressive Bullish Trend Month to Month
Goldman Sacks is a non participant which is contrary to its typical behavior. Either the market will bend to GS or GS will join in the rally as it appears to continue bullish.

Monster Truck Rally Creates Volatility

The Fed stands pat but their comments create electrical volatility in both directions.
Goldman Sacks has been a bell-weather stock that has functioned as a direction finder in the markets. As seen above it has been in an intermediate term decline as opposed to the volatile ups and downs seen in the market. GS has been more consistent than many other indicators in confirming direction in the markets.
1 Year, Weekly - Nov. 4 - Are we at a breakout or a breakdown? Support appeared to fail but then the market reversed back above support. Was this just a fake out? Was this just emotional reaction to the Fed. We are firm believers in assessing the market in different time frames. Trade decisions should not be made without evaluating several time frame charts.
20 Day, 2 Hour - Nov. 4 - Battleground between Bulls and Bears within the Rectangle. Lots of volatility and multiple ways to get faked out and lose money. Trades are best made in periods of low volatility (Narrow Bollinger Bands). High volatility in the markets translates to emotional decisions which are rarely profitable.
Trade Page - Nov. 4 - Trade Page is composed of the ADs, UVol-DVol, MACD, CCI, RSI, & SPY. Combined this provides an instrument panel that allows the trader to keep abreast of the market at hand.

Breakout, Breakdown, Undecided!

There is a lot of uncertainty in the market at the moment. We are at a crossroads as to which way the market goes. Trying to maintain a neutral position really puts us in the middle. There are Bullish as well a Bearish indicators.
11.3.09 - Today began with a Bearish mode and quickly turned sideway to slightly bullish. ADs and UVol turned positive. It was a difficult day for directional trades.

2o Day, 2 Hour - Nov. 3 - Is this a breakdown or a potential breakout?
Ditto
1 Year, Weekly - Nov. 3 - Bullish Trend prevails.

Technical Crossroad!

Tomorrow is a toss up as to direction at the time of this report. The major recent trend has been to the downside, but the late rally Monday combined with bullish financial reports creates some uncertainty about Tuesday's "tilt."
2 Day, 20 min. - Nov. 2 - Lots of volatility today with significant reversals that seemed contradictory to technical indicators.
20 Day, 2 Hour - Nov. 2 - The 20 Day chart shows an "Over the Hill" pattern with a significant downward trend. Is this the new direction? It remains to be seen.
1 Year, Weekly - Nov. 2 - Longer Term the chart remains bullish and supportive of today bounce off of support. The rest of this week will be important in showing us the direction of the market.

Strong Dollar - Weak Market!

The Market is at a Crossroads. The Bull Rally has been fueled by a Weaker Dollar in the last 5 months. The Dollar now is up and the market is backing off. How long? Who knows?

2 Day, 10 min. - Oct. 30 - Moving Average and MACD Crossovers signal change in direction in market.
20 Day, 2 Hour - Oct. 30 - Intermediate chart shows Moving Average Crossovers coinciding with MACD Crossovers. RSI and CCI topped out as well. The lower support line in the Channel has been breached. This portends further decline this coming week.
1 Year, Weekly - Oct. 30 - Longer Term the Trend is still Bullish. This may remain so but shorter term call for more defensive action by the Bulls. Bears should be happy.
